Orion today announced that registration is now open for Orion Ascent 2027, to be held February 22–24, 2027, at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando, Fla. More than 2,200 advisors, asset managers, fintech providers, and wealth management leaders are expected for three full days under this year’s theme, “Unlock”.
“Advisors have more capability available to them today than at any point in this industry’s history,” said Natalie Wolfsen, CEO of Orion. “The tools available now let firms create real capacity, personalize at a level that once took a much larger operation, and give their people more time for the client conversations that build lasting trust. The decisions advisors make today about technology, about their investment approach, about where they invest their team’s time are the decisions that will fuel their growth for the next decade. That’s what Ascent 2027 is for: three days with the peers, ideas, and expertise that help advisors unlock what’s possible for their clients and their business.”
Unlocking What’s Next for Advisors
“Unlock” is the organizing idea behind every session on the 2027 agenda. Programming centers on three areas where firms are actively putting new capabilities into practice: applying AI across the daily work of running a firm, personalizing investments at the household level, and expanding access to private markets. Attendees will work directly with Orion’s Denali AI in hands-on workshops spanning advisor workflows, operations, and service, and leave knowing which tasks it can carry, what capacity it gives back, and how that time converts into growth and a better client experience. The same practical lens applies to wealth management, with household-level personalization, tax-smart trading, and private market strategies covered by Orion’s investment leaders. Every session draws on implementations already in production at advisory firms, and the agenda is organized by role so operations, marketing, investment, and advisory team members each have a track of their own.
A Community, and a Reputation, Advisors Show Up For
Ascent has become the wealth management industry’s signature gathering. Kitces named it one of the Best Financial Advisor Conferences to Attend in 2026.1 The firms in the room reflect the caliber of the community: 17 of the top 20 Barron’s RIA firms rely on Orion technology.2 What keeps advisors coming back is what happens between the sessions — role-based community groups, Women in Wealth and NextGen programming, podcast stage recordings, and the new advisor-led series Advisors Unlocked, where advisors take the stage to tell the growth stories no vendor could tell for them. The event closes February 24 with a final-night poolside celebration.
Keynote Speaker
- Torsten Sløk, Partner and Chief Economist, Apollo — opening keynote. Sløk is one of the most widely read economists on Wall Street, and his Daily Spark newsletter reaches investors, policymakers, and advisors every morning. Before joining Apollo in 2020, he spent 15 years on the sell-side and, previously, worked at the OECD and the IMF. His keynote will address interest rates, inflation, private markets, and what the macro picture means for investors.
Breakout Sessions
- Libby Greiwe, founder of The Efficient Advisor — on the first 100 days with a new client. Greiwe turns onboarding into a repeatable process a whole team can run, and attendees will leave with the specific moves that decide whether a new relationship becomes a lasting one.
- Michael Kitces, Chief Financial Planning Nerd at Kitces.com — on the four factors that drive advisor productivity. One of the industry’s most influential researchers and commentators, Kitces will show where advisor time and capacity actually go, and what separates the most productive teams from everyone else.
Additional speakers, general session content, and final-night entertainment will be announced in the coming months.
New for 2027: One Full Ascent Experience
Ascent 2027 retires the separate pre-conference day and builds that content into the main agenda. Sessions once limited to early arrivals are now open to every attendee across three full days (Monday, Feb. 22 to Wednesday, Feb. 24).
