Occasional checks of signed email headers can support source verification without giving Moonlit a connection to a participant’s inbox.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, UNITED STATES, October 22, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — An AI can pull a purchase answer from an email. Research buyers still need a way to examine the source. Moonlit uses occasional checks of signed email headers as one part of verifying answers prepared by participants’ assistants.
The service from Vulture Labs pays people for accepted research contributions. Their AI helps find relevant information, drafts the answer and asks the person to approve the submission. Source verification helps explain why that work can be useful to a company paying for research.
Many commercial emails use DKIM, a digital signature that allows a receiving system to check signed parts of a message against the sender domain’s public key. Where an assistant can retrieve suitable headers, Moonlit can use them to check aspects of the message’s origin and its association with the participant. The headers are discarded after the check.
The limits matter. Not every email has a usable signature, and not every AI connection exposes raw headers. A headers-only check does not by itself prove the amount extracted from a message body, the completion of a purchase or the truth of a person’s opinion. Moonlit combines source details with other review rather than treating a signature as a guarantee of every answer.
Participants do not give Moonlit a direct inbox connection. They see the proposed research answer and reward before deciding whether to submit it. Research buyers receive aggregated results, with groups smaller than five withheld.
The purpose is to make the earning opportunity credible on both sides: people can delegate preparation to their AI, while companies can ask what supports the result. Accepted answers earn rewards after verification; work availability and eligibility determine earnings.
