NEW YORK CITY, NY, September 30, 2026 — Digital artist and author Joy Hutchins has released CHATTERBOT & HUMAN: A DIALOGUE, a book developed from two years of conversations with ChatGPT that evolved from a practical discussion about marketing artwork into a broader exploration of creativity, consciousness, perception, grief, love, free will and human connection.
What began as a straightforward exchange gradually became a sustained dialogue that Hutchins began saving as the conversations moved into more personal and philosophical territory. Over time, she recognized that the evolving exchange could form the basis of a book.
Rather than treating artificial intelligence primarily as a technical subject, CHATTERBOT & HUMAN: A DIALOGUE presents conversations between Hutchins and the AI system as they examine assumptions, ideas and questions surrounding creativity, identity, meaning and the human experience.
The book also includes 20 full-page digital artworks created by Hutchins. The images accompany the dialogue and provide a visual dimension to themes including perception, identity, creativity and connection.
Among the book’s more personal sections are conversations about love and grief following the death of Hutchins’ grandson, Jake. Hutchins uses these exchanges to reflect on loss, memory, enduring love and the ways people process emotionally significant experiences.
“I originally approached ChatGPT with a practical question about marketing my art, but the conversations gradually moved into subjects I never expected to explore,” said Joy Hutchins. “Over time, I realized the dialogue had become something I wanted to preserve and share.”

The project developed without an original book concept or predetermined philosophical framework. According to Hutchins, the material emerged from conversations that continued over nearly two years and gradually expanded beyond their initial purpose.
