A separate reel of hers, at 200,000 views, produced $10,000 in monthly recurring revenue. The 4 million-view one produced followers rather than revenue.
SALT LAKE CITY, UT, UNITED STATES, September 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Two of Sabrina Ramonov’s reels landed 20x apart on views and inverted on revenue. The one that did roughly 200,000 views in July added $10,000 in monthly recurring revenue, a $120,000 annual run rate that is still earning. The one that passed 4 million views added 100,000 Instagram followers and 100,000 more on Facebook rather than direct revenue.
Ramonov, the founder of the social media automation company Blotato, walked through why on Marketing Against the Grain, the podcast hosted by HubSpot chief marketing officer Kipp Bodnar. Bodnar asked for the wiring rather than the usual four-stage funnel diagram: what specifically happens between a stranger watching a reel and that same person entering a system the creator owns.
The difference was not the content. It was whether a handoff existed behind it. On the 4-million-view reel, 80% of viewers were not followers, so nearly everyone who saw it was meeting her for the first time on a platform that owns the relationship. Ramonov has been on the wrong side of that arrangement twice. An early Twitter account was banned and she never got it back. A YouTube account was suspended and she recovered it only after publicly pinging people until someone looked.
The mechanism she uses to close the gap is a comment-to-DM automation. A viewer comments a keyword, an automated sequence asks for the follow and the email address, sends the promised link by direct message, then calls a webhook that pushes the captured address into a newsletter tool or a CRM. On the episode she built a working one from scratch inside a browser chat window, by adding Blotato as a custom connector in the Claude web app, pointing it at the company’s Model Context Protocol server at mcp.blotato.com/mcp, and describing the flow in a sentence.
Then she ran it against herself from a separate account, live, and it leaked. The automation makes the promised guide conditional on following the account, and there is no follow button inside that direct message view, so a tester has to leave, find the profile, and come back. Readers had surfaced a second one before that. After they submitted an email on her newsletter page, a prompt to install the publishing platform’s own app led people to message her saying they had downloaded her app, which does not exist.
That is the argument the numbers make. Reach converts only where something catches it, and the catching mechanism is worth secret shopping before it runs at scale. The Instagram DM automation behind the flow runs on Instagram and Facebook, answers only people who comment or message first, and cannot manufacture the attention it converts.
Blotato exposes that capability through an API and an MCP server alongside its web-app builder, so an operator can connect their AI agent to Blotato and change a live flow by asking. Plans start at $29 per month on the Blotato pricing page, metered on active contacts reached per month rather than messages sent.
