The St. Augustine restaurant will be a 2,764 sq. ft. location with indoor and outdoor seating, two drive-thru lanes, and a 270 sq. ft. patio. It’ll be White Castle’s fifth free-standing Florida Castle and its first in Northeast Florida, building on the success of the Orlando flagship (the largest White Castle in the world) and Clermont locations.
The St. Augustine Castle will be designed in White Castle’s modern “neighborhood” prototype style. Plans call for a 2,764-square-foot restaurant with a 270-square-foot outdoor patio, along with indoor seating, outdoor seating, and two drive-thru lanes where team members will deliver orders directly to cars. When it opens, the new Castle is expected to create dozens of jobs for local residents, reinforcing White Castle’s long-standing commitment to community growth and opportunity.
“This commitment marks the next exciting step in our Florida growth,” said White Castle Chief Marketing Officer Jamie T. Richardson. “Our Orlando and Clermont Castles have been embraced with open arms, and we look forward to bringing our beloved sliders to St. Augustine. As one of the fastest-growing areas in Northeast Florida, St. Johns County is a great fit for our fun-loving, customer-centric brand, and we’re excited to become part of this vibrant community.”
The St. Augustine restaurant will mark White Castle’s fifth free-standing Castle in Florida and its first in Northeast Florida. It builds on the momentum of the brand’s successful 2021 return to the Sunshine State with the Orlando flagship – the largest White Castle in the world – and the Clermont Castle. White Castle was represented by Brandon McCalla, JLL, in the site selection process in St. Augustine.
White Castle previously announced plans for additional Florida locations in Kissimmee and Daytona Beach, which are scheduled to open prior to the St. Augustine location and bring even more of the brand’s iconic Sliders to the region.
