OMG Studios and Minnesota Humanities Center Announce The Making of America Film Tour

Reconstruction 2.0: Allegories of a Better World Artwork showcase will accompany The Making Of America film tour at Historic Fort Snelling on September 5th

SAINT PAUL, MN, UNITED STATES, August 25, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — OMG Studios and Minnesota Humanities Center announce a film tour for their latest project, The Making of America. The Fall tour schedule will kick off at Historic Fort Snelling on Saturday, September 5. The event will bring together film, history, scholarship, and visual art for an afternoon of reflection and imagination at one of Minnesota’s most historically significant sites.

The Making of America is a documentary directed by Monique Linder, and produced by OMG Studios in partnership with Minnesota Humanities Center, that explores how Enlightenment-era systems of knowledge produced enduring frameworks for racial slavery, territorial extraction, and Indigenous dispossession in what became the United States of America.

The Reconstruction 2.0: Allegories of a Better World community art showcase, organized and produced by OMG Studios, will accompany the film. The showcase emerged from a national call to artists and features a selected group of artists whose original works examine themes such as virtue and moral courage; nobility beyond class or status; truth, justice, and liberation; reconstruction and unlearning; memory, history, and inherited systems; cultural healing and collective imagination.

The artists selected bring forward powerful reflections on memory, justice, resilience, and imagination—offering visual allegories that challenge us to reconsider inherited narratives and envision more equitable, connected, and hopeful futures. Artists were challenged to examine complex concepts including virtue and moral courage; truth, justice, and liberation; unlearning and reconstruction; collective imagination; and inherited historical systems.
